Hello peeps 🙂
I am currently in my bed with my freshly made raspberry tea trying to write an article about my new fashion pics for the start of Uni. But I was suddenly thinking : ” You know what ? What would I have liked to read if I was going for the first time at Uni again? ” and I just know that an article about clothes would not necessary be my top priority. Don’t get me wrong. I love fashion, clothes and anything related to that but I feel that selfcare is much more important. So I’m gonna leave that for other time and I am going to speak about something I would have loved to know before starting Uni. I am also going to insert some snaps of my mini ” stationery haul ” so that this doesn’t get to be an motivational post only. I know that these kind of topics are not everybody’s ” cup of tea ” but I feel like I need to write some of my thoughts down for those of you who might wanna know what to expect. And, to be fair, this is a blog and it is mostly focused on everyday life rather than another commercial site.
It’s official now. Summer is over. It’s gone. But that is fine because it means is time for new beginnings. School has already started but Uni is about to start, next week. It is the last week of laying around and doing nothing, then is time to get our shit together. I’m gonna start my 2nd year at Uni and I feel excited but also a little bit off. After you finish college you usually tend to think that everything will be different, that everything is going to change. Well is not, at least not everything. If I’ve learned something from my first year at Uni is that people are not as mature as you would think so, there are still lots negative persons and hate. At least, that was my case, that was what I have found. I found that even if you are mentally ready to start acting like an adult, that doesn’t mean everybody is like you. You’ll still encounter hate, negativity and bad experiences. But the whole point of me telling you this is to make sure this will not hit you like a surprise, that you’ll know what to do and how to embrace it. As in every community you’ll for sure find your own ” type ” of people, persons like you or at least people you’ll like being around. Surround yourself with them. Make sure you create your own world , that you dictate your experience during Uni and that nobody has a word to say except from you. Don’t let words affect you, keep the good and reject the hate. It is your last experience as a student, make it count. Don’t close yourself in a kokoon because of the negativity some could have, socialize and find those people you connect with and stick with them. You’ll feel much more strong. Go through everyday extremely happy and let the hate go past you. Make memories, friends, new experiences and be open, but take care of your soul and mind. Always keep in mind that everywhere you’ll go you’ll find different types of people, bad and good ones, but remember that every word they say is not a reflection of you is a reflection of them, of their state of mind. Be brave, be your own role model, run your own world and you’ll enjoy this experience, obtaining memories for life.
And now that I just gave you this ” profesional ” pep talk, let’s move on. Starting a new year of college or Uni means one thing : new stationery. I like my stationery a lot. Every year/semester I just collect new bits and pieces just because this is also making me be and feel much more organized during the year. Sadly, going to Uni made me realize that there is no need of too much stationery here, everything is simple and efficient. But I’ve decided to stick to my own kind of organization even if there will be less stuff for me to buy. So I am still gonna show you my mini stationery pics/haul for this new year.
Because this will be my 2nd, I had time to learn what and how to use everything I need. So, notebook wise I have found that the perfect combo for me. Is a big 150 pages one, separated in 5 different subjects and probably the most important thing,it has a spiral. Nothing is more anoing than having to take off a sheet from a non-spiral notebook. I don’t have to write a lot and every subject is different so it is a waste of money and paper to buy a notebook for every subject, that’s why a 5 subject notebook works best for me. I’ve bought just one of these for the next week so that I can see what the teachers are like, beacuse they change usually every year and what they require. Because, yeah, there are still some of them with extra needs.
Moving further, because now everything I need goes in my bag, every year I have an excuse to buy myself a new pencil case. This way I can keep the bottom of my bag all clean and I can find a pen when I need it. Pencils, pens, highliters, everything I could possibly need is in here. I need them to make my notes more organized so that I can learn better form them next time. My pencil case for this year is a light blue faux suede one. Small and comapct. Talking about being organized, sticky notes are a must for me. I mark everything I thing I would forget with them. And the whole notebook looks much more clean like this. Another thing that goes in my pencil case is a ruller. Even if this is not as interesting , is a must. Because everytime I need one I never have it on me.
For the projects I have during the semester/year or for the ones I need to do during my exams, I use plastic folders. A good folder for me needs to have a zip to secure it and it means a good start of the project. I just collect information there and then all the papers I got is transformed in a good paperwork with a great presentation.
For all these stuff I need something to them in. As I mentioned before, I change very often my bag but usually I need more than just a simple shoulder bag, so I chose a simple and comfortable alternative. My bags of choice for this year, at least for now, are my trusty Stardivarius black backpack, I talked about it previous in some posts, and for a smart outfit kind of day there is my Stadivarius black handbag. You can tell that I love their bags, especially if they are black. Those two are my ” go to ” bagsfor the beginning of this Uni year.
